WHY SHOULD I COME TO WORDS & WISHES?
At Words & Wishes, we want to help you find the perfect stationery for your wedding. We’ve been there ourselves and understand how important it is to have exceptional choice, flexibility and service. We believe we have the largest and most exciting range of wedding stationery in Scotland, we work with many designers and card manufacturers to make sure we can offer you unrivalled choice. We aim to always offer outstanding service and are extremely proud to be the only wedding stationery company to be nominated for the VOWS Awards every year and to have won in 2006.
HOW DO I GET PRICES FOR A DESIGN I’VE SEEN?
Call or email us, tell us the designs you’re looking at, give us an idea of the quantities you’ll need and we’ll confirm the current price. Occasionally prices may change throughout the year as our suppliers don’t all up-date their ranges at the same time, that’s why prices aren’t shown on the website or in the brochure.
I DON’T SEE WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR – CAN YOU PRODUCE STATIONERY TO MY OWN DESIGN?
Yes, we work with many designers and card manufacturers so we should easily be able to create unique stationery for you. Give us as clear an idea of what you’re looking for as you can, don’t be afraid to be as fussy as you want! Only by knowing exactly what you’re thinking of can we either find it for you or have it made for you.
CAN I ORDER SAMPLES?
Yes, most of our suppliers will make samples specifically for you, there is a charge for this service which varies between roughly £3 and £6 per sample, depending on the design. Sample charges are usually refunded if you order that design.
WHEN SHOULD I ORDER MY STATIONERY?
We’d recommend sending your invitations out at least 8 weeks before your wedding and we’d like you to have them about 4 weeks before that, so aim to order them roughly 5 or 6 months before your wedding.
ONCE I ORDER MY STATIONERY HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Anywhere between 4 and 8 weeks, depending on the design. Bespoke designs and hand-made stationery can take a little longer than usual, but there are also ranges which offer a faster production – please speak to us if you have any concerns about your timescale.
DO I GET TO SEE MY STATIONERY BEFORE IT’S PRINTED?
Yes, we’ll supply layout proofs for you to check you’re happy with the wording and layout. There is no charge for proofs initially, but if you make changes and require further proofs, these may be chargeable.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY STATIONERY IS READY?
We’ll contact you straight away and arrange to have it sent to you, or for you to come to the studio and collect it. It is important that you are able to check your stationery as soon as possible and it is safer if it can be collected in person.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY ORDER?
Contact us immediately as work will commence on your stationery as soon as your order is placed. We will find out what stage your order is at and can discuss with you the possibility of putting it “on hold” and recommencing it at a later date. If you do need to cancel your order, we will confirm the costs involved and we will require written notice from you to confirm it is to be cancelled. You may wish to consider Wedding Insurance as a way of ensuring you are covered against most circumstances. Please speak to us and we will be happy to recommend a reputable company.
IF I HAVEN’T ORDERED ENOUGH STATIONERY CAN I GET MORE QUICKLY?
You can order more stationery at any time, although it can be costly to produce stationery in short timescales and in small quantities, so we’d recommend ordering a little more to begin with, to be on the safe side. Often it’s not much more expensive to order a little more than you think you may need.
WHEN DO I PAY FOR MY STATIONERY?
We ask you to pay for your stationery only when your order is ready, if your order has been placed in several stages we’d ask you to pay for each part as it arrives. You are welcome to leave an initial payment if you wish.
I WANT TO MAKE MY OWN STATIONERY, CAN YOU HELP WITH THAT?
Making your own wedding stationery can be a nice personal touch and we’d like to help you produce fantastic results by offering cards, envelopes, insert paper, ribbon, Swarovski crystals and other embellishments. However, it isn’t as simple as many brides think, making your own wedding stationery is a big job and you should fully consider the time and work involved before you commit yourself. You should also be aware that every design available at Words & Wishes or any other wedding stationery company is the property of that particular manufacturer and you are not permitted to reproduce any of these designs. Many of the manufacturers we work with are members of ACID (Anti Copying In Design) and have the backing of this organisation to assist in protecting their work. You are also responsible for obtaining the proper permission to print hymn words in your Order of Service, if you are printing them yourself.
